Jennifer Aniston made a rare comment about her "love triangle" with ex-husband Brad Pitt and his second wife, Angelina Jolie.
'It was such juicy reading for people," Aniston, 56, toldVanity Fair about the past drama with Pitt, 61, and Jolie, 50, in an interview published on Monday, August 11. "If they didn't have their soap operas, they had their tabloids.'
Aniston and Pitt announced their split in 2005, which was the same year he officially moved on with Jolie. The close timeline sparked rumors that he had cheated with Jolie when they worked together on the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Jolie and Pitt dated for a decade before they got married in 2014. However, their love story wasn't meant to be and they announced their split in 2016. They went on to have a messy legal battle before their divorce was officially finalized in December 2024.
"It's a shame that it had to happen, but it happened," Aniston said of the media attention surrounding her split from Pitt and his subsequent romance. "And boy did I take it personally.'
She also revealed what her mindset was at the time. "Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps," she explained. "And keep on walking, girl.'

The media attention grew when Pitt and Jolie posed for pictures together in a spread for W Magazine, which depicted them as married with kids. At the time, Aniston told Vanity Fair, "There's a sensitivity chip that's missing."
Twenty years later, the Friends alum candidly looked back on the experience. "I just remember the experience of doing it—which was kind of jarring," she said. "It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs."
Following her split from Pitt, Aniston was married to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018. She has most recently been link to hypnotist Jim Curtis.
